CV
Luba Shapiro Grenader
I am a practicing mixed-media artist focusing on figurative and experimental drawing. I collaborate with nature who offers an abundance of materials, which I minimally alter and use as part of an image alongside found fibers. My past experiences as an immigrant and dissident inspire my empathy for global conditions of women, earth, and environment, as I consider our diverse human and unique experiences of tragedy and beauty.
I am an educator with over a decade of experience teaching at the university and community levels. I have taught medium and subject-based courses, both traditional and experimental, and have a particular interest and experience in teaching topics investigating materials, methods, and concepts.
