Drawing classes cover formal topics such as, composition, perspective, value and shading techniques. Multiple materials are covered and their properties discussed, such as graphite, charcoal, pen & ink. Students work from still-life objects and photographs - we discuss how use photo images as a reference rather than a copy.

Beginner drawing classes start from scratch and take more time to study each topic. In more advanced drawing classes students progress faster while working on more complex subject matter. Students are encouraged to establish their own practice, discover their own visual style, and subject matter.

Each class includes an overview of color theory, color study, and practice of mixing colors. Techniques and materials’ properties and uses are discussed as well. Subject matter varies from still life to landscape, and students are encouraged to bring in their subjects of choice.
